House Bill 89, Conservative Politics At Its Finest

I love Sonny Perdue! A lot of Americans despise conservative politics but on a day like May 14th, 2008, you gotta love it. HB 89 has been a hot seated debate in the Georgia General Assembly for the past 2 years. HB 89 expanded the rights of permitted gun owners in the state of Georgia, such a beautiful acknowledgment of the Constitution. I pray that the permit process is tightly monitored. Not for the possibility of criminals slipping through the cracks, but to make sure that there is no discrimination against people who are members of population segments that have been stigmatized with a propensity for violence.

This is a great day in Georgia! Most of the anti-gun laws were established in the Jim Crow era to keep blacks from defending themselves from the KKK and their ilk. We're slowly peeling them back. There's more work to do, but HB 89 was a huge step in the right direction.

Scott, can't disagree with you. It was very strange progression of possession laws enforced on a state level first then being backed up by Federal law. Huey and Bobby didn't help at all by running up in their State Capitol building with guns drawn. Thanks for the comment!!!
