So today has to be the weirdest day of my life and just as I started to make sense of it all, I get a text from CNN; Breaking News, McCain Taps Palin. This election was either given to Obama today, or has been a joke all along.
Republican hardliners will not stand by this decision, they will simply not vote. The 18 million Hillary supporters will see the obvious and take it as a slap in the face. Bloggers have already started to eat her alive. Let's just see how the weekend plays out with all of this.
The obvious mishap, is that McCain is 72 and his health could fail at any moment. This would leave Palin to run our country. She has no gangsta about herself. Putin would play ring. around the nukes with her allday until she folded in public. At least Hillary
had balls, probably bigger than Bill's.
Hannity and the Heritage Foundation had Newt on to cosign the whole deal. I don't know what weed Newt was smoking today but it must have been the same dank McCain had the night before. I won't begin to prop up the Democratic ticket and why its a better choice and I am a conservative independent. At some point national security has to enter the minds of Americans???

McCain, McCain???
John McCain picks Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin Pt 2
As my friend Alapoet wrote: McCain's anti-choice, anti-gay, anti-environment right wing extremist pick for vice president reveals the depth of his cynicism and condescension towards American voters, women in particular.
And Paul Begala said: John McCain needs "a checkup from the neck up." In choosing Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his running mate he is not thinking "outside the box," as some have said. More like out of his mind.
Sarah Palin elected in 2006 as a first-term governor of a state with more reindeer than people is a former fisherman, mother of five, Madame Mayor of a town of 9,000. But that hardly qualifies her to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. She is also facing a formal ethics investigation calling for her impeachment. Nice.
Who vetted this person?
What's that? Oh. Oh, yes. Perfectly clear. Now I see. If you haven't spent 5 1/2 years in a hellhole for your country like John McCain, how can you dare question this choice.
For a man who is 72 years old and has had four bouts with cancer to have chosen someone so completely unqualified to become president is shockingly irresponsible. Suddenly, McCain's age and health become central issues in the campaign, as does his judgment Sphere: Related Content
Putin Asserts Link Between U.S. Election and Georgia War
“One might well ask whether the military thought of Carl von Clausewitz, developed over a hundred and seventy years ago, has anything relevant to offer to soldiers of the 21st century. Indeed, one author has recently argued that Clausewitz's wake is long overdue: "[Future] war will be fought not to pursue national interests, but to kill enemy leaders, to convert opponents to one's religion, to obtain booty, or sometimes, for simple entertainment.” excerpt from Antulio J. Echevarria II
“Clausewitz used several historical examples to illustrate how policy and political forces have shaped war from antiquity to the modern age. His discussions in the chapter on "The Scale of the Objective" include the vastly different yet profoundly similar wars of conquest and plunder carried out by the semi-nomadic Tartars (or Tatars) and those of expansion prosecuted by Napoleon.” excerpt from Antulio J. Echevarria II
Once you are able to distinguish the semantic arguments of Echevarria over the German interpretation of Politik used by Clausewitz, we are able to see some light in Putin’s indictment of George Bush. Now we all know that Putin, an ex-KGB official, is subject to extreme skepticism because of he’s known acumen in political propaganda, but who would be a more perfect mark to prosecute a politically driven conflict against. Some points in of brilliance in a Bush/Rice Conspiracy Theory:
- 1. Nobody in their right mind would begin to believe that a standing U.S. President would send orders to attack interest of a former Cold War enemy with nuclear volatility looming throughout the east.
- 2. There would be too much of a risk for exposure of personal energy interests owned by top U.S. Officials in the current administration.
- 3. How retarded would it be to prosecute a police action to help John McCain win an election bid for the Presidency? Its absurd to think Republicans would go this far to challenge Obama’s foreign policy experience???
- 4. Points 2 and 3 would constitute war crimes and add to Bush and Cheney’s charges stemming from Afghanistan and Iraq.
- 5. Putin is ex-KGB and Russian, who would believe this idot?
The sad fact is that Putin is not an idiot, he is a Russian Patriot trying to rebuild a country that Reagan and Daddy Bush stole from him many years ago. He has every right to be paranoid. The truth is that the Republican elite have used police actions or RMA’s to gain control of natural resources and economic strongholds all across the globe over the past 4 decades. The most memorable and only because it became exposed was the Iran-Contra Conflict, selling cocaine to buy guns to over throw a government to control shipping lanes in South America, and Daddy Bush’s fingerprints all over it, full circle to 2003, after creating an event to cause the warranted invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq for the purpose of controlling a country’s natural resources. Everyone and their cousin knows that there is oil and natural gas in the Black and Caspian seas and that since the U.S. energy crisis in the mid 1970’s the U.S. has prosecuted conflicts to control the region.
This is classic Bush Family politics and Putin just maybe telling the truth. George Jr. has no chance of a great legacy as a past U.S President, and rape, robbing and killing is a dirty job. Why not make a little more scratch on the way out. Michael Moore exposed the U.S. led private equity firms that financed energy companies in Russia’s back door and leaving Putin out of the money. As for the Georgian Conflict being staged for McCain, I say Wag The Damn Dog!!!

Who is McCain fooling, he should have called Mondale on this one. Everyone knows Hillary was the only one with a shot for the White House. Does he really think he will nab Hill's 18 million voters?

Unity Solidified???
Listening to Joe Biden as I give this update!
Clinton gave a hell of a unity speech if that was his intent. He opened by commenting that he was present for 2 reasons; 1. to support Obama and 2. to congratulate his wife. The speech highlighted the many achievements by both candidates and covered the many failures of the current Republican administration. He spoke of his love for Joe Biden but the most climatic point of the speech was when acknowledged Hillary's 18 million voters and his call to action for those voters to rally behind Obama. A beautiful gesture but a little late. Don't you think???
Republican Officials Who Love Obama and the Media Who Ignore Them
Rep. Jim Leach of Iowa a respected, long-time Republican lawmaker who not only endorsed Barack Obama, but appeared at the Democratic convention last night to urge others to follow his lead.
As reported by Watching Those We Choose on Aug 26th 2008
Why did he skirt the media attention that certain key Dem's garnered when they crossed party lines to endorse Republican candidates and platforms?

OBAMA Taps BIDEN
"As the progressive rebuilding project began, looming over the comeback was a 30-year-old conservative machine of think tanks, candidate recruitment programs, training academies, media divas and hard-core donors bent on creating a "permanent Republican majority." Politico.com I often wondered over the past two years why Sean Hannity had such a personal vendetta against the left, especially when Clinton and Obama became major candidates after the Iowa Caucus. It became very apparent after Obama became the clear front runner, Hannity was able to dig into Obama's short past and begin a political hate storm unparalleled, even to Jennifer Flowers. I have always been aware of the conservative recruiting machine, I was a policy debater in high school and I was able to see the closing of the ranks very early on. The Republicans and their philosophical agenda are such tarantulas that there is little match for Dem's even if they were to win this election. So full circle to the installation of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States, Democrats are much more beleaguered by the lack of succession planning than who has been tapped for 2nd in command or party rifts from a tumultuous party nominee election. It seems that Dems have lacked a true fool proof selection program to create the next great leader. Barack Obama is a great guy and a great brand but that's just it, his brand is to new. Come on it 26 years later and who's buying Saturn's? The difference between the two parties is that Republicans invest time and money into each of their leaders, who seemed to be hand picked and individually mentored. Over years they seem to be time tested, aged and marinated in good ole GOP philosophy. So as news was being released that Joe Biden would be the 44th Vice President of the United States of America, I watched and waited, even through Barack's fjordian slip before I decide to post on this subject and I said all of this to say, Dem's have a long row to hoe, or the other way around…. Energy Not Ideology, The New Pawn of The New Russian Super Power
In a single decade, Vladimir Putin, by his own design, restructured Russian Energy Policy to re-establish his country as a dominant World Super Power. When he took power in 1999, his nearly bankrupt Russian Republic was drowning in the Western ideology of free trade. Putin, being a conservative patriot and fan of the old guard could not simply sleep until his "Mother Russia" reigned supreme once again.
Upon taking office, Putin expelled many foreign energy executives, forced foreign energy companies to sell their interest to state owned energy producers and began to drink vodka that seemed to taste a lot more Russian. Who could blame him. Putin grew up in a communist dominated Russia where the corruption and oppression were just as Georgian as pecans and peaches. Short sighted Western police actions and imperialism is enough to piss off any former patriot of Russian dominance.
So nearly ten years after his rise to power, Putin seems to be well on his way to returning Russia to its communist roots. The concern for the West should not be how to stop the process but how to live in a world where people are free to enforce their own interpretation of government.

Separation of Church and State
Courting Religious Endorsement; is it exactly safe in this day and time? With several pressing issues (both foreign and domestic) that come to mind during the current election, none are as ambiguous as how the candidates continue to flirt with certain religious interests. With America's foreign policy rating next to nil, how could either candidate see brilliance in courting any single faith based endorsement while possibly alienating others? Both candidates have their own personal and party platform issues that become turn off's to the different religious factions. Obama has three major issues that really come to the forefront; He is entangled in the false rumor that he is a Muslim, he has been complicated by the effects of his association with his former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., and he faces significant hurdles in appealing to religious voters because of his tolerance for abortion and same-sex marriage. McCain on the other hand has quite a few issues of his own; in 2000 he severely criticized Evangelical leaders as "agents of intolerance", he runs the risk of polarizing the political middle and independents by campaigning too heavy as a religious conservative and he alienates Muslims with his ties to Israel. Obama seems to appeal more to Catholics and is slowly gaining ground amongst evangelicals, and McCain is carrying a huge popularity among Protestants. With that being said, the need to "divide and conquer, isolate and demonize the opposition", seems to be a weak strategy being carried out on the behalf of both parties, especially during a time when unity and patriotism for this country is paramount. So, yesterday's "Show Down at Saddleback" had both candidates posturing for the evangelical vote, Obama, admitting to certain moral failures during his youth and McCain citing a spirit of forgiveness during his incarceration as a wartime hostage. Both candidates have been guilty of dividing individual issues and trying to obliterate the other in such closed space. Some would argue that this is a poor way to unite the country or the world, much less their respective political bases. American foreign policy has seemed to mimic the cultural and religious outlooks of its allies. Simply said, we partner with Israel then we automatically become de facto enemies of Muslims. The next President of the United States needs to become more of a brand manager than a dictator. Brand America and its apparent "Change We Can Believe In", slogan needs some real legs to stand on. Evangelicals represented a quarter of the vote in 2004. I think it makes more since to unite them on the issues than to possibly polarize them by disingenuous courting. Jews only represent 1% of the electorate but hold their power in campaign financing and political influence. Whether we like it or not, there is a growing non Arabic Muslim presence in this country and they are not fanatics. We need to find some way to not just tolerate but include the voice of Muslim without political or religious prejudice. Putin is still in POWER. Don't Be An Idiot!!!! Cleopheus Williams

Politics Gone Wild

So we all joke and liken political figures to everything under the sun, but I found this new website that has a deck of political playing cards with political figures as animals. The site is www.politicallywild.com and has ingeniously created Democratic and Republican playing decks. They have these John McCain and Barack Obama "Vote Aces" cards that are really cute. The neat thing about the cards is it gives the user the opportunity to comment on each card for a corresponding political figure during a particular series. From what I can tell, there are or will be additional series allowing users a real opportunity to have their comments published. The cast includes; political celebrities(various Pundits, Analyst, Reporters and Journalist), The Ace in the Hole (The Democratic and Republican Candidates), Presidential Wannabees, and Former Presidents. With all the rhetoric and spin being tossed around the net everyday, www.politicallywild.com gives a little humor to this whole??? Just check out the site.....

Such Hypocrisy
WASHINGTON (CNN)Russia's attacks against the former Soviet republic of Georgia have "substantially damaged Russia's standing in the world," President Bush told reporters Monday after returning from his trip to Asia.
This from the same idiot that blew up Iraq, assassinated a head of state and all in the name of oil.

Born In The USA
In the wake of recent violence against an American Tourist during the Chinese Olympics, I have begun to examine the perception of American culture around the globe. A particular statement sticks out in my mind that Ron Paul made in Aaron Russo's "Freedom to Fascism". Paul was adamant about ceasing "Nation Building" as a global political strategy. Paul, in his interview seemed to be more concerned with domestic issues as opposed to foreign policy.
With that being said, some close friends of mine are managing a Polish music artist who grew up in Berlin. She and I have had extensive conversations about how the perception of America differs from the actual culture. She frequently talks about how the mainstream and international media paint Americans as smart, intellectual, philanthropic individuals. Upon her arrival, she speaks about the utter disgust she has for this culture, the classism, racism and laziness on our parts. It takes me back to my first trip to Europe and how Europeans opened my eyes to; the lack of intellectual and personal freedoms I am exposed to, the tyranny of American government, the hopelessness that exist in the average American.
As I began to take in all of this information, I was able to realize the disconnect of the average American Citizen had from his or her Government. I realized the oppressive nature enforced on the working classes to provide opportunity for the affluent. There is no opportunity in this country, people are trapped in the vicious "energy crisis" trying to buy gas so the don't lose their jobs. Full circle to China where a proud American traveled abroad to bask in the accomplishments of his son in-law. I hope the Drum Tower killing is a final wake up call to my fellow Americans that something here is severely wrong as if 9/11 wasn't enough.

Do You Eat The Black Jellybeans?
How racist are we?
I was in my parking garage last night and I was speaking to a friend about the fact that I still had no blog topic. For the last three days I have been saying to her and others that I would write my blog today. So goes that notion.
So as she and I sat in her car finishing hot dogs from IKEA, I reached into a bag of nearly finished kettle chips. She stops to inform me that there are no more, when I noticed all that was left were the small brown remnants that almost no one eats. You know the ones with skin that was not fully removed or slightly over cooked. At that point I commented to her that she was truly racist, she immediately replies, " so do you eat the black jelly beans?" I answer yes and we both laugh as I realize my new blog topic.
How appropriate in the current political climate, where no one is allowed to cynically or satirical indulge I a racial stereotype or two. At time where more White Americans are concerned with Black racial stigma than Blacks.
Granted we are all aware of the cliche representations of black negative images; Black Magic, Black Hackers, Black Sunday, Black Monday, Black Male Suspect. I could go on for months, but how often do we think about how much we are subconsciously programmed to hate black? On a very innocent level I began to analyze the idiosyncratic racism that exist in me, a black male. Sure, the black Caddy truck is Gangsta to me. If the same GM body were a Suburban model then I would think FBI or Secret Service. I have been taught to make coffee palatable you must add a white substance such as cream and sugar. It wasn't until I traveled to Africa and the Middle East that I was educated that coffee was meant to be taken Black. Even the Italians enjoy their coffee Black. Pun intended.
So I begin to really consider the thought of why so many people shy away from the colour black, subconsciously? Now none of this is backed by scientific data, nor academia but I wanted to just put it out there and see what you guys thought. 88 days from the most historic, racially charged election in world history, I would love to know how my fellow Americans see themselves.

Mainstream Media Trys To Pressure An Obama Clinton Ticket!
With tall tales of party unity, women's lib and moral obligation. Mainstream media has run the gamut of headlines, taglines and sound bites to tilt voter perception of the "right" thing to do. CNN and the NYT were quick to publish articles yesterday outling Obama's strategy to add Michigan and Florida delegate votes, knowing full well this deal was struck days prior to Clinton conceding. Politico writes that not tapping the Clinton power structure could cost him the general election and futher skew party lines. However it is said, we have fully embraced the campaign of the new millenium, where propaganda preys on insanity. We are fully aware of the general public's lack of the ability to extract the issue's from the mularky. Let's just pray that the candidates aren't that stupid.
